Saturday 7th March at Hanley Swan Village Hall. Please drop in between 10:30 and 15:30. The consultation is open to all who live and work in Hanley Swan and Hanley Castle. Come and have your say about village issues important to you, your family or business. Your ideas and views will help to create a new Parish Plan for the future.

Some 60 people enjoyed a lively and warm event in St Mary’s in January. Guests were able to discuss their views with other residents, parish councillors and local volunteers. Lucy Bird, the Health and Wellbeing Officer for Worcestershire County Association for Local Councils (CALC), was present to hear views and describe approaches other councils are taking.

A rolling slideshow presented many of the wonderful activities and sports taking place in the parish. There was a great atmosphere of a community coming together to focus on what needs to be done in our area.

The output was a fantastic 300 comments and ideas. We are not going to tell you what they were yet because we want people coming to the 7th March session to have a completely open mind. Some of them were predictable, many were not and all of them were interesting.

Once guests had provided their stickies, they enjoyed a free pie and pint or cake and cuppa. In some cases, both. The output from the events will make sure we ask the right questions in the survey we will be sending to all households later this year

So on to the next event. Output from the events and survey will inform a strategy and plan for the council to implement. Come and join the fun on the 7th March in the Hanley Swan Village Hall between 10:30 and 15:30.
